Hello!
I'm Elias

I’m originally from Utah, and somehow ended up building a life here in Japan.

I met my wife, who is Japanese, while studying linguistics in Hawaii. Now we live in Ikeda, just down the street from the ramen museum with a wonderful view of the Hankyu line. If the naming of my sessions did not give it away, I like trains.

I actually got my start in photography through parkour. I used to do stunts, and that gradually led me behind the camera. Over the past 10 years, I have worked on music videos, commercials, corporate projects, documentaries, and even spent some time as a camera operator on a few Bollywood films.

I love cameras, but what I care about most are moments that feel real (as cheesey at that sounds)!

That is what I try to focus on in every session. Not just how things look, but how they felt to be there. My goal is to give you something that reflects your time here in a way that feels honest and lasting.

What Camera do I use?

I shoot on the Sony A7R IV
An Amazing camera with over 61MP! So you can rest easy knowing the image quality will be amazing!

How do I edit?

I do all of my editing inside of Photoshop and Lightroom! I am proud to say that I do not use AI in my editing process.

How do I send photos?

I use Google Drive to transfer raw photos. and then I use a Gallary for you to view and download all the edited photos.

How long to get your photos?

Generally I take about 1 week to get your photos all taken care of. If the season is especialy busy, it can take up to 2 weeks!

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place across Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. Some sessions have set locations, while others are fully customizable. You can choose places that matter to you, or I can suggest locations based on the atmosphere you’re looking for.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain can actually create a really nice atmosphere in photos.

If the weather is too strong, we can reschedule or adjust the plan. I’ll stay in touch with you leading up to the session so we can decide what works best.
